1. What is included in my rental?
Each residence is designed to offer a refined and effortless experience. Villas feature private pools, while condos include access to serene community pool areas ideal for quieter stays. Every home includes access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club and the Mauna Lani Sports Club, along with premium linens, beach gear, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Our goal is to provide everything you need for a seamless Big Island luxury vacation rental experience.

2. Do you offer discounts for direct bookings?
Yes. Guests who reserve directly with Abita Luxury Rentals avoid third-party platform fees and may receive exclusive return-guest benefits throughout the year. Booking direct is the best way to secure preferred dates and personalized support for your Mauna Lani stay.

3. What is your payment and cancellation policy?
Payment schedule: The full reservation amount is due at the time of booking.
Cancellation policy: Reservations canceled 30 days or more before arrival receive a full refund; cancellations made 15 days or more before arrival receive a 50% refund; cancellations within 15 days of arrival are non-refundable. These policies help us ensure availability and maintain the high standards expected of a luxury vacation home on the Kohala Coast.

4. Should I buy travel insurance?
We encourage guests to consider travel insurance to safeguard their vacation against unexpected weather, flight disruptions, health issues, or personal changes in plans. It is a simple way to protect your investment in a premium Big Island getaway.

5. Can we host gatherings or events?
Our homes offer a beautiful setting for intimate celebrations and meaningful time with family and friends. Small, respectful gatherings are welcome; however, each property has a firm maximum occupancy as outlined in your reservation details. To maintain comfort for everyone in the community, quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM, and large events or parties are not permitted.

6. What amenities are provided?
Homes are curated for comfort and ease, featuring air conditioning, Wi-Fi, private or shared pools, outdoor hot tubs, full kitchens with premium appliances, coffee makers, washer and dryer, hotel-quality linens, and secure parking. All residences are non-smoking, pet-free, and family-friendly, making them ideal for a luxury family vacation on Hawaii’s Big Island.

7. Do we have access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club and Sports Club?
Yes. Every reservation includes privileged access to both the Mauna Lani Beach Club and the Mauna Lani Sports Club, two of the most coveted amenities on the Kohala Coast.

  • Mauna Lani Beach Club: A serene, protected cove ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and paddleboarding, complete with shaded loungers, complimentary parking, and access to the beloved Napua oceanfront restaurant.
  • Mauna Lani Sports Club: A refined fitness and recreation center offering a lap pool, tennis and pickleball courts, and optional classes or personal training.

8. Are daily cleanings included?
Each home receives a professional cleaning before arrival and again at departure. Mid-stay cleanings can be arranged upon request for an additional fee, ideal for longer visits or multi-family stays.

9. Is there construction nearby?
There is active construction near the Nohea properties within the Mauna Lani community. Work takes place on weekdays only and never during evenings or weekends, helping preserve a peaceful environment for our guests.

10. How do we get to the property?
Several major West Coast cities offer nonstop flights to Kona International Airport (KOA), including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Calgary. The Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast is approximately a 40-minute drive from the airport, making arrival to your vacation home smooth and straightforward.

11. Do I need a rental car during my stay?
Yes. A rental vehicle is strongly recommended to fully enjoy the Mauna Lani area and explore the island’s beaches, dining, golf, and natural attractions. Car rentals are available directly at Kona International Airport, offering convenient access to your Big Island vacation home.

12. Can you help with trip planning?
While we are not a full concierge service, our team is delighted to share trusted recommendations for private chefs, in-home spa services, local restaurants, golf cart rentals, and curated excursions such as snorkeling, hiking, and scenic coastal cruises. We can also suggest beautiful hidden beaches and local favorites that pair perfectly with a Mauna Lani luxury villa stay.

13. What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. These times support a meticulous cleaning and inspection process to keep each home at the standard expected of a premium Kohala Coast vacation rental.
